Puppy Foundations

New puppy in the household? This introduction program will go over teaching important foundations for a puppy who is eager to learn and focuses on teaching a solid recall, crate training foundations and more.  Interested in pursuing sports or a future in tricks with your pup?   Pups will learn how to use their minds and bodies while you are getting to know their body language to set them up for success when out in social situations.  This class goes hand in hand with the Puppy Life Skills class.

Life Skills: For Puppies (6mo & Under)

In our Life Skills Puppy Class, we delve into fundamental pet obedience while emphasizing practical training for real-life situations.  We prioritize leash etiquette and effective socialization; developing essential skills including loose leash walking, reliable recall, safe dog-to-dog greetings,  impulse control, confidence building exercises to enhance focus and much more! This class goes hand in hand with New Puppy Foundations.

Life Skills: For Adults (6mo & Older)

Life Skills – Adult
In our Life Skills Adult class we seamlessly blend obedience training with real world applications.  With a strong emphasis on effective socialization and leash etiquette tailored for everyday situations, this program is designed to enhance your canine companion’s capabilities.  Dive into essential skills such as loose leash walking, fostering handler focus, mastering the leave it command, building a strong bond, practicing distraction ignoring, and honing impulse control for a well-rounded and well-behaved companion.

Life Skills: Level 2

This class continues to build off our Level 1 Life Skills class and pushes your dog’s skills even further with real life scenarios for obedience you can use in every-day scenarios!

Dog Reactivity Management

Learn how to work with your reactive dog instead of against them and help build a trusting relationship to keep them safe.  In this class we will give you the tools you need to help you manage your dog in public places as well as building engagement needed to overcome challenging situations.  This class includes a 1 hour orientation on reactivity and 3 working classes.  NOTE:  This course is NOT designed to fix aggression in dogs but we do hope to increase your dog’s comfort around dogs at a distance.  At no point in this class will dogs be greeting or saying hi to each other.

AGILITY CLASSES

Beginner Level 1:

New dog or handler to the world of agility? This class is for you!  Low impact foundations for young dogs under 1 year, and an intro for adult dogs new to the sport.  Prior experience in basic obedience skills and handler focus is required for enrolment.

Beginner Level 2:

Start building on the foundation skills that you have already learned, adding weaves and contact equipment.  Dog and handler has taken one or two sessions of Beginners Level Agility.

Introduction to Dog Sports for Beginners

Have you always wanted to try dog sports, but not sure where to start or what to try? Do you have a highly active, eager dog that you want to focus their energy into something fun for both you and your dog? This intro course focuses on a different sport each week, to try it out and learn the basic foundations needed to get started. From Agility, Rally-O, Flyball, Tricks, Disc and more, learn about each and give them a try before deciding which one to pursue, while learning the basic foundations required for getting started in dog sports.

Obedience for Agility

Looking to do agility with your dog, but need a little more training before you get started? This intro class is designed to help you get the most out of your agility classes by setting you and your dog up for success before you even step into the ring. Plus, learn a few specific behaviours to jump start your skills! Start line stays, working off leash while maintaining control and handler focus, how to use play to motivate and reward your dog, contact foundations and short sequences.

Hoopers 

This is a fun agility style sport that is low impact so is great for young dogs and our older canine friends.  It is a great way to teach distance work and bond with your dog.

Beginners Fly ball

Want to learn the crazy, fast, fun sport of Fly Ball?  This class will give you and your canine partner the skills you will need to participate in the team sport of Fly Ball.

Ratting (New!)

Barn Hunt is an amazing option for dogs with a high prey drive and lots of energy, or as a low impact retirement sport for working dogs from all walks of life! Barn Hunt is known as a gateway sport, and welcomes pet owners who are brand new to dog sports! It builds confidence, communication, and is a great way to burn off a lot of extra energy extra fast, using body and brain! Offering Beginner and Advanced classes.

Scent Detection – Beginner

Scenting is a sport that encourages your dog to use their instinctive sniffing abilities to detect specific scents.  It is both a physical and mental challenge for your dog. Offering beginners and Level 2 classes.

CARO Rally Obedience

Rally Obedience combines the precision of obedience training with the enjoyment of games and fun!   Open to all breeds and ages, this activity fosters a positive and trusting relationship between handler and dog.  It goes beyond the basics, focusing on fundamental heeling techniques while nurturing a strong sense of teamwork between you and your canine companion.
